The Monster Energy Honda Team is celebrating after the final stage of the Rally Raid de Portugal, a race that spanned over 1000 kilometres over 5 stages. From day one, rider Tosha has dominated the overall, securing his leadership position until the final day, where he was crowned champion with more than 4 minutes ahead of second placed Sebastian Buhler.

The race took place in the challenging terrains of Alentejo and Ribatejo in Portugal, as well as in the Spanish region of Extremadura.

The riders faced different types of terrain, where water and puddles were the protagonists of this exciting competition.
Spanish rider Tosha Schareina demonstrated an exceptional level throughout the entire race, highlighting his skill and determination in each stage.

Adrien Van Beveren, today’s stage winner, also left an indelible impression with his outstanding performance throughout the competition, despite being penalised from the first day, limiting his chances of victory. With today’s victory, the Frenchman becomes the rider with the most stage wins in the W2RC World Championship, with no less than 13 victories, all of them with the Honda team. Congratulations Adrien!

After the first part of stage 5, the riders enjoyed a short break before tackling the final show stage, a 3-kilometre route around the Grandola bivouac. This section, similar to the prologue but in the opposite direction, added excitement and adrenaline to the competition.

The Monster Energy Honda Team would also like to send words of encouragement to Skyler Howes, who suffered a crash. Despite this setback, Howes demonstrated a remarkable spirit of achievement in completing the race, highlighting the courage and determination that characterises all rally bike riders.

In addition, the inclusion of a show section at the end of the final stage added a touch of excitement and spectacle, allowing the riders to showcase their skills in front of the fans in a unique and festive environment.

Beyond the pure competition, Rally Raid Portugal has highlighted the importance of taking this type of race to places where the riders can feel the warmth and support of the fans. The enthusiasm and passion of the Portuguese and Spanish spectators have been instrumental in pushing the riders through moments of fatigue and difficulty, creating a unique and exciting atmosphere that has made this competition an unforgettable experience for all involved.

The Monster Energy Honda Team would like to thank the organisers for bringing this exciting W2RC World Championship race to Europe, providing the drivers with the opportunity to face unique and exciting challenges on diverse and demanding terrain.

Great work from the whole team during the whole Rally, and even more so when today we have to prepare the bikes to leave for Ruta 40, Argentina.

I am very happy with the result of the whole team, especially Tosha who dominated from the beginning.

Van Beveren's level was very high during the whole rally.
Skyler tricked me because I thought he was going to be worse because of the type of rider he is, as his forte is the desert.
Pablo was a shame that he couldn't show all his talent.
I see the team doing very well for Ruta 40, and Ricky will be ready to give everything with his team-mates.

It has been a very intense and tough week. It took me a long time, I had a hard time finding my rhythm, understanding the terrain, a couple of crashes, the water.... But we made it to the finish line, the goal of finishing was achieved and now we just need to concentrate as much as possible for the next round in Argentina, a race that I like more because it's more open.

Skyler Howes 10

I knew it was going to be a difficult race for me because it's very different to what I'm used to but I'm very happy with my performance and I had a good race and I was close to the podium. Unfortunately I crashed again today, but I'm still here.

I love this team, I am so grateful for the opportunity, for riding alongside my teammates, super happy for Tosha's victory and looking forward to the next one.

Adrien Van Beveren 42

I'm happy with the day, I'm happy with the feeling riding the bike.

The first day was spicy, but you have to think about the good things and I felt very good, the bike was amazing and I'm very motivated for Ruta 40 in Argentina.

Tosha Schareina 68

Final stage, we took home the victory. Super happy, super happy for my first victory in a world championship because a big part of the staff is Portuguese.

Now it's time to celebrate and think about the next one in Argentina.
