Spectacular comeback by Tosha Schareina in Brazil: 2º in a brutal stage of the Rally Sertões
The opening stage of the 2025 Sertões Rally, held this Sunday (July 27) between the cities of Goiânia (GO) and Unaí (MG), was marked by Honda riders dominating the motorcycle competition. After 536 kilometers of racing — including 283 kilometers of timed special stages — Martin Duplessis posted the fastest overall time, followed by Tosha Schareina and Bruno Crivilin. Romain Dumontier finished fifth, and Tiago Wernersbach secured a strong seventh-place result.
Currently second in both the overall and class standings, Spanish rider Tosha Schareina represents the Monster Energy Honda HRC team and is riding the Honda CRF 450 Rally. The Dakar rider-up is making his debut in Brazil’s biggest rally and has already shown remarkable grit: he started 38th on the grid and had to make several overtakes to reach the elite group

First day of the Rally Sertões in Brazil.
It was a good stage, although it wasn't easy for Tosha.
It was a real challenge because yesterday he made a small mistake in a prologue that wasn't easy at all.
He got confused with the roadbook, which led him to make a mistake that resulted in a 4-minute penalty, which only affected the time trial and, with it, the decision to choose a position for stage 1.
The race started today, and he started very far behind in stage 38, with starts every 30 seconds.
This meant there was a lot of dust, but despite the difficulties, he managed to stay calm. "
We already knew it was a stage where there was more to lose than to gain, and it was simply a stage to move up positions and gain confidence to be at the front. It was a long day with a total of 536 km and lots of motor racing fans.
Tosha surprised me quite a bit, finishing in 2nd place with a very good special stage.Tosha is a rider who can race in any situation and fight for the win.
I'm sure that day by day he will get to know the terrain better and be able to compete with the best.

Finally here at camp after the first stage.
It was the dustiest day of my life!
I started in 38th position and managed to pass around 30 walkers. It reminded me of MX style during that 300K special stage. It was very difficult, very complicated navigation, very slow in some parts, more like Enduro style.
But yes, I'm happy because we took second place.
