Xique-Xique (BA) –  Tosha Schareina have completed four of the eight stages of the 2025 Sertões Rally, reaching the halfway point of the country’s biggest rally in the top three positions in the motorcycle category. After winning Wednesday’s stage (30/7) between Bom Jesus da Lapa and Xique-Xique, in Bahia, Spain’s Tosha Schareina increased his lead in the overall standings and in the Moto 1 category with the Monster Energy Honda HRC team’s Honda CRF 450 Rally.

The fourth stage of Sertões 2025 covered 478 kilometres, 276 of which were special stages (timed sections), contested in Maratona. In this format, competitors could not count on support teams for mechanical assistance at the end of the day, being responsible themselves for any maintenance or repair of the motorcycles in the Closed Park, within the specified time limit.

The Marathon continues on Thursday (31/7), with the route taking competitors to the state of Pernambuco, in the city of Petrolina. The fifth stage of the programme will cover 470 km (296 of which are special stages).

Day 4 is over. It was a very intense day with a very technical section right from the start. It was a day for avoiding mistakes, as it was the marathon stage. We went to the refuelling station to check that everything was OK. Tosha managed to do a good special stage and reached the end of the day without any problems.

The bike is now in the closed park and tomorrow we leave for Petrolinas.
It looks like it will be a complicated stage with sand. These are very long days of 12-13 hours of work, but so far everything is going smoothly.

Today we had to preserve the mechanics and tyres as it was the first part of the marathon. The terrain was very abrasive, so we had to take the tyres into account. It was much slower and more technical terrain with rocky mountain passes. I was able to win and extend my lead in the overall standings.

Tomorrow we will start with worn tyres, so we have to take that into account to avoid any unforeseen circumstances.

There are still four days to go and anything can happen.
