Schareina triumphs in Morocco as Brabec claims podium spot in 2025 rally-raid finale
Tosha Schareina secured a landmark victory in Morocco as the 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship concluded with a thrilling desert showdown, with Ricky Brabec joining him on the podium.
Sitting on top in the overall standings this morning, just 216 kilometres stood between Schareina and his first-ever Rallye du Maroc win as he and his Monster Energy Honda HRC teammates lined up for the fifth and final stage of this year’s event.
The route from Erfoud to Merzouga promised no easy finish with fast, rocky canyons and four dune sections, the last 12 kilometres of which rounded off the stage, so precise navigation was crucial to avoid costly mistakes.
From the outset, Schareina set a relentless pace on his Honda CRF450 RALLY. Before the first time check, he had already caught lead-out rider Nacho Cornejo, earning valuable bonus seconds while extending his lead over Daniel Sanders in the overall classification. Despite losing minor time after the second dune section, Schareina maintained his composure to win the stage by 42 seconds, sealing overall victory by 3’12”.
The result capped off an exceptional second half of the rally, with Schareina claiming three stage victories and his name now joins a prestigious list of Honda winners in Morocco, including Cyril Despres, Paulo Gonçalves, and Pablo Quintanilla.
Schareina’s triumph in Morocco secured him the runner-up position in the 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship standings, just nine points ahead of Brabec. His consistent season included second-place finishes at the Dakar Rally and Rally-Raid Portugal, and third at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.
Ricky Brabec started the final stage 5’14” behind Daniel Sanders in second place, aware that only an outstanding ride would give him a chance to challenge the leaders. Delivering a determined ride, the American closed the gap to finish just 1’53” from the top spot on stage five, securing third place both in the Rallye du Maroc and the World Rally-Raid Championship. The result marked Brabec’s third podium finish of the season, following strong performances in Abu Dhabi and the South African Safari Rally.
Adrien Van Beveren, competing while still recovering from injuries sustained at Rally-Raid Portugal, demonstrated determination and consistency throughout the event. With solid top-five finishes across all stages, he concluded the rally in fourth place, narrowly missing out on a championship podium.
With the 2025 season complete, Monster Energy Honda HRC now turns its focus to the upcoming 2026 Dakar Rally. In less than three months, the team will reunite in Saudi Arabia for fifteen demanding days of racing across the vast and challenging deserts of the Middle East.

We’ve reached the end of the Rallye du Maroc, the final race of the year, and it’s been a very good rally for us. We were missing a victory and this one with Tosha comes at the perfect time. He rode an excellent race, opening stages on two days with great confidence and navigation. The bike worked perfectly throughout the rally and we’re very happy with this win. Ricky finished third overall, he lost some crucial time on the first day but then rode very strongly for the rest of the week. Adrien came into Morocco with some doubts after his big crash in Portugal, but he improved every day and finished fourth, which is a great result that boosts his confidence ahead of the Dakar. It was unfortunate that Skyler had to retire after a crash because he was also riding well. We’re all very motivated to start the new year in the best way possible and this victory gives us the energy and confidence to keep pushing forward. Thank you to the entire team for their incredible work over the last month with two back-to-back rallies, it hasn’t been easy, but the effort has truly paid off.

Rally’s finished, I’m happy to be healthy and happy to be at the finish line, this is the main goal. It’s been two years since I’ve finished this race and it feels good. We’re going to go home healthy and start preparing for Dakar. We got third in the general, so it was a good rally, everyone wants to win of course, but the competition is really, really strong right now. There’s a couple of things to work on for the Dakar, but overall I’m happy to be at the finish line and going home in one piece, that’ll make my Dakar training programme a little bit easier. Overall, the team did great, was a long week, a long time away from home, but now it’s time to focus on the Dakar.

It was a better stage for me, I got back on my real level and it feels good to be able to push as my body today was better. I feel that it was a good idea to come here and unlock my brain after the crash. I can’t wait for the Dakar preparation and giving all for January.

Here we are at the finish line, it was not easy but it’s the best way to end the season taking the victory finally with Honda. I’m happy for the team and everyone that supports me and now we focus on the main goal that is Dakar.
