Monster Energy Honda HRC are set for Rallye du Maroc challenge

Monster Energy Honda HRC is set for another demanding week of World Rally-Raid Championship action as Ricky Brabec, Tosha Schareina and Adrien Van Beveren prepare to take on the 27th edition of the Rallye du Maroc.

Running from 28th September to 3rd October, the rally will cover 2,637 km across the prologue and five stages, with 1,530 km against the clock.  The coastal city of Agadir will host the start before the competition heads inland towards Zagora, where the bivouac will become the heart of the action for much of the week.

Against the spectacular backdrop of the Sahara, the three Rally GP riders will face a fresh route combining the rugged terrain of the Atlas Mountains with fast tracks, demanding navigation and the deep sand and dunes synonymous with racing in Morocco.  As well as providing a formidable challenge, the event offers valuable experience on terrain similar to that expected at the 2027 Dakar Rally.

For Ricky Brabec, the Rallye du Maroc represents another opportunity to chase a victory that has narrowly eluded him throughout his career.  The American has finished third at the event four times, most recently in 2025 and will make his final appearance in Morocco on two wheels determined to climb to the top step of the podium.  After finishing runner-up at this year’s Dakar Rally and taking third at the Desafío Ruta 40, Brabec arrives in Morocco fourth in the World Rally-Raid Championship standings, just 13 points behind championship leader Daniel Sanders.  With valuable points at stake, a strong result could prove crucial to his championship campaign.

Tosha Schareina arrives in Morocco firmly in the championship fight as the Spaniard sits just three points behind Sanders and returns as the defending Rallye du Maroc winner.

Consistency has been a hallmark of Schareina’s 2026 campaign and after finishing third at the Dakar Rally, he claimed consecutive runner-up finishes at Rally-Raid Portugal and the Desafío Ruta 40.  Still searching for his first victory of the season, Morocco offers another opportunity for Schareina to turn that consistency into a win and strengthen his championship challenge.

Adrien Van Beveren completes the Monster Energy Honda HRC line-up and will be aiming to add a first Rallye du Maroc podium to his impressive rally-raid résumé.  Fourth place remains the Frenchman’s best result at the event, giving him added motivation heading into this year’s edition.

Van Beveren’s strongest result of the 2026 season so far came with third place at Rally-Raid Portugal.  Currently fifth in the W2RC standings, he will be looking to collect valuable championship points and deliver another strong performance across the demanding Moroccan terrain.

Preparations are now complete for all three riders as the Monster Energy Honda HRC squad successfully completed its shakedown earlier this week, while administrative checks and scrutineering of the Honda CRF450 RALLY machines have also been completed in Agadir.

An 18 km prologue gets the competitive action underway tomorrow, before the riders head into five demanding days across Morocco.  With valuable championship points on the line and some of rally-raid’s toughest terrain ahead, Monster Energy Honda HRC is ready for the challenge.
